The peak was first climbed in 1778.

The park contains a wealth of diverse and beautiful landscapes of: valleys, waterfalls, forests, rivers, pastures. It has: three river basins, the source of the Socca and Sava rivers, Lake Bohinj, Valley of the Seven Lakes, indigenous and unique flora and fauna.< The park offers: accessible touring, and walking on marked and protected trails, mountain lodges and recreational centres.

The  topic Web resources provide some information about the park, and its attractions. A major collection of the many waterfalls in the park and their images is presented in Burger’s website Landmarks of Slovenia www.burger.si.
