Kocbek Edvard:
A Prayer
I am,
because I have been,
and everyone
will be able
to forget me.
And still
I can say:
I am,
have been,
will be,
and therefore I am more
than forgetting,
immeasurably more
than denial,
infinitely more
than nothing.
All things created
are eternal.
Birth has more power
than death,
is more persistent
than loneliness and despair,
stronger
than tumult and sin,
more profound
than abjectness.
Never
will I cease existing.
Never.
Amen.
